Description
FosfoTyl Med
Wide-spectrum antibiotics (powder)
Composition :
Each 1 g contains :
Fosfomycin 250 mg
Tylosin Tartrate 100 mg
Fructose 1.6 Diphosphate Tri-sodium 180 mg
Properties :
Fosfomycin (FOS) is a natural bactericidal broad-spectrum antibiotic that acts on proliferating bacteria by inhibiting cell walls and early murein/peptidoglycan synthesis.
Fosfomycin acts bactericidal against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Other properties of this drug include inhibition of bacterial adhesion to epithelial cells,
exopolysaccharide biofilm penetration, immunomodulatory effect, phagocytosis promotion, and protection against nephrotoxicity caused by other drugs. Fosfomycin has, due to its low protein binding, very good tissue penetration.
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with activity mainly against Gram-positive bacteria and cocci.
Fosfomycin is linked to fructose. Fructose is an important source of energy for bacteria.
Bacteria actively transport fructose into the cell, thereby also taking up the Fosfomycin. In this way, Fosfomycin can be much more effective.
Indications :
FosfoTyl is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive, and Gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma in the digestive and respiratory tract in poultry.
FosfoTyl in poultry is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by E. Coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp, and in the treatment of infectious Coryza, Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD), Avian cholera, Listeriosis, Pseudomonosis and diseases caused by Fosfomycin and/or Tylosin susceptible organisms.
